Once you're logged in and your two-factor authentication is set up, you're ready to fill out your application. This article covers what to expect.
What's in an application?
Each application is built by the organisation running the scheme, so the questions will be different depending on what you're applying for.
Some questions will be mandatory (you have to answer them) and some will be optional. The form will tell you which is which.
Step 1: Answer each question
Work through the questions in order, answering each to the best of your ability.
đź’ˇ Tip: Take your time. The more accurate and complete your answers, the easier it is for the organisation to assess your application.
Step 2: Track your progress
At the top of your screen, you'll see a progress bar that shows how far you are through the application.
Step 3: Upload documents (if needed)
Some applications will ask for documents — things like photo ID, bank statements or proof of address.
To upload a document:
- On a computer: drag and drop the file into the upload box, or click to browse your files
- On a phone: tap Choose file, then select the file or take a photo
💡 Tip: Photos taken on your phone work fine for most document uploads — just make sure the whole document is in shot and the text is clear.
Step 4: Save and come back later (optional)
If you need to stop partway through, click Save for later. You can log back in any time to continue where you left off.
⚠️ Important: Schemes can be closed at any point by the organisation running them. If a scheme closes while your application is saved as a draft, you may not be able to submit it. If you can, try to finish your application in one go.
Step 5: Review and submit
Once you reach the end, you'll see a summary page showing all your answers. Check everything is correct, then click Submit.
Need help reading or completing the application?
We've built in an accessibility tool called Recite Me. You'll find it at the top of every page on the application.
Recite Me lets you:
- Make text bigger or smaller
- Have the text read aloud to you
- Change colours for easier reading
- Translate the page into a different language
Just click the Recite Me button at the top of the page to open the tools.
Can I apply on my phone?
Yes — the application form works on any device. Phones, tablets and computers are all supported.
